From January 27 to February 2, 2024, a delegation of eight members from the Geothermal Development Corporation (GDC) of Kenya visited Shanghai and Quzhou for a week-long inspection and exchange tour.

Accompanied by representatives from the General Machinery Research Institute and related departments, the delegation visited Kaishan’s Shanghai Lingang Industrial Park, Quzhou Industrial Parks I, II, and III, the Donggang Heat Exchanger Workshop, and Dazhou Industrial Park. They highly praised Kaishan’s advanced manufacturing capabilities, strict quality and safety management, and intelligent production systems. The visitors were especially impressed by Kaishan’s diversified product lines covering geothermal development, air power, hydrogen applications, and heavy machinery, and expressed strong interest in future cooperation.

On February 1, Dr. Tang Yan, General Manager of Kaishan Holding Group, met with the delegation to introduce Kaishan’s wellhead modular power plant technology and discuss the upcoming OrPower 22 project. At the delegation’s request, Kaishan’s General Technology Research Institute organized several technical training sessions, strengthening the foundation for closer collaboration in the future.

Mr. Moses Kachumo, head of the GDC delegation, thanked Kaishan for the warm hospitality and praised the company’s outstanding performance at the Sosian Geothermal Power Plant in Menengai, noting that Kaishan’s plant was the first to reconnect to the grid within just 30 minutes after the recent major blackout. He expressed confidence in Kaishan’s technology and willingness to expand cooperation in future projects.

During the seven-day visit, the delegation also toured Shanghai’s Bund and Chenghuang Temple, the Yiwu International Trade Market, and several cultural attractions in Quzhou, gaining deeper insight into China’s culture and industry.
